Need a bit of help from those in the know. I'm currently refinishing my baby, a Marlin 1894C in .357 Mag. I've always wanted to do this but have never wanted to take it out of service long enough to do it but the time is currently right so here we go. Gun was stripped & gone through & all of the wonderful things in my tiny little mind done & added. Beautiful new gloss blueing, color case hardened receiver, stock stripped, reshaped & polished cowboy crescent brass butt plate added & a new set of brass Skinner peeps. Now the question..... anybody out there do gold plating? Electro plating or otherwise? I'm wanting to plate the trigger, hammer, barrel band & receiver screws. I found several places online but all have the same policy, "No Gun Parts!" Any & all help & guidance offered here is appreciated.

Thanks anyhow. Labor of love. By far my favorite rifle with many to choose from. Just making it my own.

Use TiN (titanium nitride) instead of gold. It is what they put on drill bits. Looks like gold, and wears a lot better.
Sounds like a beautiful project. Post pix when you get it done.

Isn't TiN what's used on dies for handguns (to eliminate the need for sizing lube)? That'd be a slick trigger!.

Denton's on to something. I have to believe that'd be as good as it gets for a trigger - smoooooooth, smoooooth, smoooooooooth.
