Fins call moose "roosa", Sweds "�lg", Germans "Elch".
Nobody anywhere calls moose "elk".
Since Finns have Red Deer, a species so similar to Elk (Wapiti) that debate rages on if both are not same, the mistake might be this.
Hence my question - what does he want to hunt.
Moose?
Red deer?
Roe deer?
Apart from a few introduced whitetails and Santa raindeer -nothing else availabe deer wise in Finland. your wrong about that. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moose
