I have one but it is a hunted dinged up shape on the stock, there is a scratch in the finish of the Leupold sitting atop it. Some of the blue is fadding from near the muzzle from slipping it in an out of the gun case.
Yet is still has kept its zero since the first day and the 7x57mm with 120 X's drops the whitetails like no other.
I do not know what mint ones go for but my less then mint one is priceless and is set to passed down the family line when I done putting my wear and tear on it.
I would guess that all the 7x57mm I am aware of were some of the last M700 made up in Illion, NY and you do not see them much anymore a premium of 10 to 15 maybe asked for. I do know they make one nice deer rig. BTW they were made on the long action.
..pick..

Thanks for your input. I use mine as my first choice rifle. It was , I understand, the last one shipped by Remington in a 7x57 Mtn Rifle. I've shot about forty or so whitetails with it with no problems. One buck at over 300 yards. I shot the 162 BTSP Hornady with H450 powder until the H450 dried up. A real killer load. It shoots the old Hornady Light Mag well too at around an inch for five shot groups. It's another rare rifle I'll not give up until it passes to my youngest son.

...I know olrecurve's rifle well. It'll blow up bobcats like none other i've ever seen! I saw the paws and ears from a pitiful feline beast he clobbered last year. They were all that was left of the kitty...I'm obliged to give him a little razz, since he rags on my 284Winchester,my kimber,my Savage99,and well whatever gun i've got with me...

olhippe shoots the 284 spitball. It's not possible to destroy more venison per shot than with those Winchester exploders. A real deer killer if you don't like to eat venison.

I've got one too. It's got just a couple dings, and shoots great! I think I paid about $450.00 for it about this time last year. It fits my small collection of semi-rare mountain rifles well. I saw a post here a few months back stating the 7X57 Mnt rifles were going for a "premium" but never heard it quantified.

don't forget you can take a regular mountain rifle and have a new tube installed on it in 7x57. if you are going to shoot it, it does not matter if the barrel is factory or custom, only a collector would care and they like NIB.

Yup, he was a colelctor and NIB was what he cared about.
Speaking of Bob and 700 mountain rifle, I just scored a used one last week for $400. Looking forward to its arrival...
