A hunting buddy told me a few weeks ago that he'd heard of a game cam that texted pics to you every time it took pics. I said that sounded waaaay too expensive a rig and dismissed the idea immediately. Then a buddy from Texas sent me a youtube link to this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOO04UEllzYIt's a hog control trapping system that seems foolproof... It sparked my interest but what REALLY captured my interest the most was the cellular game cam it utilizes. http://www.jagerpro.com/JPStore/product_detail.aspx?prodID=205&catID=112We DO have a hog control problem on our leases but we'd prefer the year 'round sport hunting opportunities that it offers shooting them to just trapping the hogs. So... The meat of this post is my question... "Do any of you currently use the Jager Pro Black Ops 940 cellular camera or maybe any of your friends use them and what do you know about them?" Thanks, $bob$

I would love to have one of those, but the cost for the number of pictures we get would keep me from getting one.

The Number of photos scares me. I got thousands of photos in two weeks from my cameras. I can't imagine getting 100 "hunting" texts every day at all hours.

thats a neat idea but , but they need to work on the the pricing of the packages. For 19.99 a month I get unlimited text on my phone plan if they could do that price it would be a home run . Next thing would be if they could solar charge that unit. Then see if you could add the camera to the plan you have , just like adding another phone for 5 bucks a month and share the text.

I am afraid text and data or multimedia are not the same thing. Data are priced separately on most plans. At least with AT&T.

I hunt in the bush, not in the city. There is no cell phone coverage where I hunt.

Where I live the bush has reliable cell service and except for the city only carriers like Sprint and Nextel we all have cell service over 90% of the time.
I think we'll go to this type of game cams next year so our information is delivered to use in advance of us having to go in the woods and physically go get a memory card from a camera and then having to view it to see what happened while we disturb the deer and knock them off the very pattern we're trying to identify... LOL
I'm waiting for the technology to mature a bit before taking the plunge and risking getting something that maybe isn't truly ready for release.
