Is a 243 in a classic. 12.75 lop with 1/2" pad. Figure as he grows the pad can be swapped for a 1". Barrel still needs to be lopped of a couple inches. He wants the bolt pimped out. Vx11 3-9x40 with m1 elevation. Is turning out very very nice for this young fella

That's a nice rig for a kid. I guess I was abused as a child. My first rifle was a M1903 Springfield.

Daughter has a 243 Mountain Guide in a MR stock with a VX3 2.5-8 leupold. She named her Olive Oyle for her color and skinny appearance. Went the same route with the 1/2" pad and thoughts of a future upgrade to the 1". Couldn't be happier with it. Pushing an 85gr TSX it is a deer killing machine. I'm sure that young man will be just as deadly with his.

Anybody else with a spoiled kid?

Sweet rifle! But around here, the kid better be an OSU fan with those colors! LOL.

First thought on reading the post was, "that's an incredibly witty way of announcing the birth of a child"... laugh

Looks like a total winner to me. You should have a camera handy when the kid gets it. I can't imagine it not being worth it.

You have a lot of things to be proud of in that photo. It sounds like you guys have things pretty well figured out too.

What good are kids if you can't spoil them sometimes? smile
