What action for 300 Norma Mag? #6958399 10/10/12

OP rufous Campfire Regular R Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 2,180 Arkansas	The relatively new 300 Norma is based on a shortened 416 Rigby. Case length is about 2.5". What actions would work safely with this very fat case? I am interested in this cartridge for big game hunting and currently have a 300 Win Mag in a Winchester Classic Stainless Model 70 but have heard that it is too small in diameter to safely be chambered for that fat of a case.

RJ338 Campfire Member R Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 209 NW PA	Give a call to James Harrison at Defiance and ask for one of his long actions with a .750 dia. bolt for the .590 bolt face. Best quality I have seen yet in a Remington clone. Go to his website for all the options available.
