about a week ago i managed to take my first deer in NC a small spike with my H&R .45-70 put a great shot on him and after seeing the exit wound on him when i cleaned him my good friend wanted to try it so since i just had a oral surgery i told him to go ahead and take it out he ended up dropping 2 does at about 50 yards with one shot standing next to each other he put it thru both shoulders on both deer then called me and had to have me come gut them for him(so high on pain pills i barely knew my name)

Congrats! That .45/70 is quite a cartridge - even after all these years.
