Has anyone purchased one of these yet ... they've been out for awhile but don't recall hearing much here about them??

Are they worth the $710 MSRP?? What do they really retail for and are they any competition for the Kimber Hunter series?

The few guys I have talked to said you get a better gun for less with a Ruger 77/22. I can't say that I have handled them, but that is what I heard.

In the $400 to $500 range, I would look for a discontinued Browning A-Bolt .22, or a Browning or Winchester re-issue Model 52.

If they are as good as their predecessors, 541S or 541T, they should be excellent shooting rifles. I love my 541S. Looked at them and they appear to be well finished, action is smooth, and they have a nice classic look with the walnut stock. Remember the walnut stocks cost these days. One would be high on my consideration list if I'm in the market for a quality 22 bolt rifle again. Price is typically as reported.

From what I hear from a couple of guys at the local gunclub, they are not as accurate as expected. These two old fellows are shooters and know how to wring the best out of a rifle so I tend to listen when they talk.

Lots of BS and hype surrounding the 504. I could give you my take, it's a fine gun, with startup problems and quality issues that was designed by a genius. The genius is that he didn't make a totally new gun, he took other ideas and made them all into one fine gun. Qualtiy issues have plagued some owners, although I can say the two I've owned shot good, and looked good. 504's I've seen in shops, some have looked horribly fitted, which might explain others dismay with them. They're a fine gun.
