I've been using Hornady 250 grain SST bullets out of my muzzleloader and I seem to have pretty good success with them. But sometimes I don't get a pass through, even on closer broadside shots. I've noticed this happening with with a couple of my guns with both 100 grain of pyrodex loads and my smokeless loads.

I was wondering if other people have been happy with them? I was thinking of switching to either Barnes original or Hornady XTP's.

I switched to 250gr Barnes for this season most of the time the 250gr SST's were good but a couple times I had bad results so made the switch this summer to 250gr T-EZ with 120gr BH209

You speaking about the Barnes Original cup-n-core pills or monos?

I used to run the 250 SSTs alot and killed a pile of critters with them, but I had a few come apart and stay in. I've since been using 300g Bonded SWs and 250g TMZs and both are the real deal. Those TMZs are wicked on deer and the BC is much better than Barnes states from my testing.
