We hunted Thursday through Sunday. Saturday woke up to rain and decided not to take the horse for a ride instead went on a little drive to check out a piece of state land not far from camp. Seen two whitetail bucks head into some timber and made a sneak on them,at about 125 yds they flushed out below us and stopped broad side and looked at me and Tony. I told tony take the first one and off hand he hit him dead center and a short run he folded up. Tony was using my old 7600 30-06 with 180gr Gamekings perfect shot and great excitement to watch one of my sons harvest their first buck and nice little 5x4 with split eyegaurd(sorry about pic's cell phone). We went out sunday with the ponys and saw two bulls way off and we never got close to see how big,but weather is a changing and I'm sure we will get into them soon.... Still have Elk tags and William and Carolyn's tags so more up coming pic's as the season unfolds.
He's very proud, has it plastered all over facebook lol, it was kinda fitting. The rifle was my old pump it hadn't seen action since Tony was 6 months old. That was the last time I shot a deer with that old rifle.
