Has anyone had any dealings with D&R Sports? They seem to have everyone beaten by a considerable margin on scope prices.

Any stories, good, bad, or ugly?

I have purchased a couple of scopes from D&R - no problems and good prices. Other sources of Leupold scopes at good prices include 24hourcampfire's Rick Bin and Brunos Shooter Supply.

I assumed you are thinking Leupold - if not Ignore this info. I don't track on scope pricing for other brands any more but (flame suit on) all my rimfires have Simmonds scopes and for a cheap scope I think they are fine.

Good Luck!

The delivery of a Nikon scope from D&R was a little slow (six weeks). If you are looking at Leupold, deal with Rick Bin.

I have three or four long gun puchases from D&R that were as expected, including the standard shipping interval, one was a Sav99 from gunbroker he actually recommend another Sav99 in stock based on what I was looking for. Mark K. is good to deal with. He seems to have a good inventory of Ruger, Browning and Winchester.

I think if Rick can get close to D&R's price--and I do want the illuminated TMR reticle on the Mk4 3.5-10 x 40 with M3 turrets--I may be willing to deal. Does Rick accept Paypal payments?

If I'm buying NEW Leupolds (which rarely happens) ... I always buy from Rick, even if his prices MIGHT be a couple of bucks greater than anyone else (actually I have never checked against his prices), I choose to support Rick and this fine site he provides us!!! 'nuff said!

I bought 3 new scopes from dnrsports with no problems.

That said, I just did a price comparison on my favorite leupold scope model 56140 and Rick was less then 2.00 difference in price with dnrsports, I am thinking Rick Bin is were I'll spend my money next time around..........

I stopped dealing with them. I have placed orders over the phone with Mark Komoroski, and well after I would have expected to receive my order, I have called and found the items were currently out-of-stock. This should be made clear when the order is made.

In speaking to Mark, he told me he "had a line on a few scopes that he could make a buck on". He told me that he'd let me know within a few days whether he could provide the scopes or not.

I told him that if he had been honest with me up front about the items not being in stock, fair enough I'd have given him a few more days. I didn't feel like waiting to see "if" he could get the scopes or not. As he wasn't up front with me, I cancelled the order.

If you need the item in a hurry, just be very sure to pin them down on whether the item is actually in stock, and available for shipment.

Anybody who seriously concerns themselves with the adequacy of a Big 7mm for anything we hunt here short of brown bear, is a dufus. They are mostly making shidt up. Crunch! Nite-nite!

I placed two orders with DNR and several weeks later cancelled them after follow up calls revealed they were not in stock at time of order.
I have purchased scopes from SWFA, Bearbasin and MidSouth.
Mid South will match prices with anyone and has same day shipping.

I ordered a Sightron 4X16X42 MD from D&R. After waiting several weeks in was told that the scope wasn't in stock but had been ordered and would be forthcoming as soon as the shipment arrived. I called Sightron only to find that my product was not in the pipeline and would not be available in the near future. I cancelled the order and they removed the charge from my credit card. I bought the scope from Cabela's. I later found that D&R had reinstated the charge on my credit card three times. I had over a $1000 dollars in bogus charges. I called them and had them removed. They said it was a mistake - I agreed that it indeed was a mistake.

Guys, I live in South Africa, and ordered 2 Leupold riflescopes, and 2 sets of mounts (which had to be special ordered) on Wednesday Jan 18th 2006. I received these scopes and mounts on Friday January 27th IN SOUTH AFRICA, 10 000 miles away, packaged very well, and in perfect 100% condition. I am EXTREMELY happy with the whole order, from the discount price, to extreme fast USPS Global Express Mail postage. Wow, thanks Mark - this was truely a nice experience. Regards, Robbie Stewart.
