I enjoy my P&R'd 629's a bunch too. I load them easy as I do all of my Smith's with the 429421 over 13 grs of HS-6. I had the 6" out earlier in the year though it has been a while with the 4".

My little brother made this gun in jr high shop class 40 years ago and it was just found in someone's basement.
My brother, now a machinist, was going to make it look good, but I told him to leave it like it is, an example of a 14 year old boy's gun build.
He had never heard of leaf springs, so he designed it to use 1950s automotive drum brake return springs.
He made the appearance look like a pistol he saw in a book.
It is made out of all non gun parts.
I remember him working at the garage bench vise for a long time hack sawing and filing that hammer out of a block of steel.
I think he cast the butt out of Pewter, I don't remember why.
The barrel is thick wall tube. It kicks hard when he puts a lot of powder in it.

I think this pic is of that gun being shot.. back in the black and white days of 1972.

Does Ed ever drink anything out of that bottle? Or does he just keep filling it?

When it comes to pigs, the smaller the better.

I keep pressing him to reveal what's in it, but he keeps telling me "sweet tea."

Exactly -- I tried explaining that earlier in the thread, but it fell on deaf ears. That pig right there will make for great eats!

When I lived in pig country I always looked for ones that could "fit on the pit." grin

If Ed won't answer you, I'm going to put him on ignore.

That is very true. Land in or around San Antonio and I will guarantee fun and a sip of the "Remy" to wash down a good stinky pork burrito. As my wife says, I work rather intensely and I arrive home as a pure knucklehead. Turned off, shut down, done... She is perfection, I am lucky. After near 30 years she does have me dialed in. That said, Travis putting me on ignore would have certainly put me out in the pasture planting a 38 WCF (though a Harton custom Flattop so grace to the end) through my brain.

Obviously, I would have reserved the right to toggle when I needed something from you. I am an ass hole, but not to myself.
