No reviews on the barrel... Who is actually making these barrels, I thought AAC made silencers? I would also want to know what whose medium profile contour is used. Post what you find out.

And what is a 'medium' contour ya suppose? You got time to shoot them up. Barrels are out of stock, expected to arrive 2/2013....

It is the same people that make the cans. From what I have found out contours run heavy.

The image shows a straight tapered barrel so I bet they are heavy.

Install instructions... Would rather buy the proper contour for the same money and pay the install $ for a proper fit with whatever lug you want to use. JMO
SteP 1 Bust off your old useless Barrel SteP 2 Clean Receiver Barrel threads thoroughly (acetone is recommended) SteP 3 Test assemble with original Remington Recoil Lug, hand tighten SteP 4 Check Headspace, If it passes, proceed to Step 6 If fails NoGo, proceed to Step 5 If it fails Go, you need a thicker Recoil lug DO nOT ATTEMPT TO DEEPEn THE cHAMBER WITH A REAMER!!! SteP 5 Grind recoil lug from in increments of .001 Surface Grinder recommended, Alternate method is 400 grit sandpaper taped to a surface plate Recheck Headspace until assembly passes both Go and NoGo gages Recoat Recoil Lug with your choice of corrosion resistant coating Recheck Headspace to make sure the coating thickness did not push Headspace back out SteP 6 clean Barrel Threads on both Receiver and Barrel thoroughly with acetone Apply a thin coating of anti seize compound to Barrel threads Install Barrel into Receiver with 100 ft-lb of torque

Here is another link to a .308 barrel from AAC and on sale for $225. http://www.advanced-armament.com/Rem-700M-7-Barrel-308_p_465.htmlI purchased the .260 rem from Midway. Still in the process of building the rifle. The barrel is pretty nice looking, but won't know until I get everything completed.

Do you have the barrel already? If you do could you post the weight and muzzle diameter? It looks like a straight taper but Midway does not give dimensions...

There was a lengthy discussion of these on snipershide when they first came out. Once I heard the weight, I lost interest immediately. They were almost 5lbs as I recall.

Here is an article on Long Range Hunting about the 260 barrel. The weight is 4.74 lbs but oh well i like heavy guns. the taper is straight to .750" for the last three inches for suppressor. I don't recall the start diameter. http://www.longrangehunting.com/articles/one-mile-shooting-1.php
