Thought you might like this one...This happened last Saturday as I sat in my box blind. I decided it was to early in the season for a good buck to show so I decided to play with the fox. I had no call with me so I put my lips together and this "kiss of death" sound brought him to within 15 feet!!...It was great fun!! I let him walk ......I am not into killing a great rodent predator, however had that been a deer eating coyote you would have heard a shot long before he reached 15 feet from my blind! Very pretty fox. I had a grey-fox pup that I would call in sometimes. He would sit and bark at me. Bark sounds kinda like a bad cough. It wasn't trapping season, so we just played for awhile. Thanks for posting.

I never tried using just my lips as a call before but I think I'll start my calling session with it when I'm coyote hunting. This fox was 80 yards out and he heard it instantly. If a coyote is nearby in heavy cover he may to investigate the mouse like sound, if not I'll move on to a man made call.If you noticed when the fox hung up I intensified the noise and in he would come.........Fun stuff!!

I let him walk ......I am not into killing a great rodent predator, however had that been a deer eating coyote you would have heard a shot long before he reached 15 feet from my blind! As a side note they are not only excellent rodent killers but they are extremely adept at keeping the populations of those pesky waterfowl and upland birds down. (We really need a sarcasm font). Mart

I'm a hunter, but I don't begrudge other hunters - whether human or not - from taking game. I do shoot cats, however.

Mart Around a farm you have rodents, so to me this fox saves me money. I find their tracks in my deer paddocks all the time. After a fresh snowstorm there are tracks everywhere. I see where they hunt rodents along the fence edge on the outside as well. The long grass on the un-grazed side is a haven for mice and moles.......The fox gets a pass, the coyote gets lead!

Of all the furry critters out there, fox fascinate me the most, I have no idea why.
