My FIL Shot a great Gemsbuck on his last safari a couple years back. Two days ago, it "jumped" off the wall and broke a horn off at the base. He has asked me to find out if there are any taxidermists that you all could reccommend to fix his trophy. Definately someone who does African game.
We are in the Tyler area and are not against driving an hour or two for quality work. Thanks guys!

PM Jorge. His oryx "jumped" off the wall during a recent leopard safari er, I mean kitchen remodeling. He had his repaired in Florida but has connections in Texas thru Ben Barnett and Mike Stroff.

There's a guy here, Creative Concepts, who's one of the top taxidermists in the US, and does a ton of African stuff. Sure he could repair it for you, but would have to come to MD. But fixing a broken horn, should be within the ability of any competent Taxidermist. www.creativeconceptstaxidermy.com will get you his webb site. Jonas Brothers should still be in Denver. None of these within driving distance, though.

A guy here, who's a big time hunter, has mentioned Mike Simpson a few times too.. so must be okay, as this guy doesn't pay for bad work.

Not East Texas, but Jerry Huffaker is in Abilene and is fantastic. Check out this link for a picture of his National Champion gemsbuck. He is also a great guy who has hunted in Africa numerous times. http://www.taxidermy.net/forum/index.php?topic=274822.0

Anyone competent taxi can fix a broken horn. If the sheath just popped off, it is an easy fix. If the base busted off too, it will take more work, but still not that big of a deal.
good luck

There is a marvelous young taxidermist right down the road from you in Pittsburg. Don't know his name, but my brother, a doctor, has used him for lots of African work and is really pleased. Check him out.

Just finished a hunt with Mark Brumbelow out in Brazoria. One of the most honest men I know. Give him another day to get home and try him on 979 798 0305.
