Any suggestions for where to get copies of these? Either a complete set in a book or if someone would make copies of their old mags? I'm mainly interested in articles about specific cartridges. .222, .257 Bob, 7mm-08, 7X57, .308, .30-06, .338-06 for example.
Thanks, Kevin

A good book if you can find a copy: -------------------- FINN AAGAARD ON HUNTING RIFLES AND CARTRIDGES (ISBN: 0935998586) AAGAARD, FINN Book Description: NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION, WASHINGTON D.C., 1990. SOFT COVER. 8.5" x 11". Finn Aagaard, long time author and writer for the National Rifleman examines and discusses hunting rifles and the ideal hunting rifle. Same discussion for cartridges. This 203 page book has many illustrations to accompany the text and contains detailed descriptions, ballistics and technical information. This is a classic trip through a maze of rifles and cartridges, expertly guided by Aagaard. There is a brief biography of the former Kenya guide, who sadly, passed away in 2000. This book is becomining exceedingly difficult to find. -------------------- Used copies are not cheap. Source to try looking for a copy: http://www.abebooks.com/Description above is from abebooks -Bob F.

Finns' wife Berit just signed a contract with Safari Press to re-print Finn's African book. Lets hope either the NRA will reprint the book on his articles or sell the rights to someone who will. My copies are getting pretty worn.

That's great to hear...er, read!
I have "Aagaards Africa" but will probably get another copy, that I won't feel bad about tearing up.
I have two copies of "Hunting Rifles and Cartridges", one to read and another to save.
"Hunting Rifles and Cartridges" shows up on ebay every so often, sometimes selling for less that ten bucks. But you have to be patient.
I am still waiting for Wolfe to compile the articles he wrote for them into a book. I guess they're too busy selling DVDs, fee websites and internet service to get to it.

holy smoke, went to those two sites and almost had cardiac arrest. $150>$200 for a book is a little out of this cowpokes price range. i really liked finn aagaard, but thats a little ridiculous.
PLEASE EXCUSE CAPS. I AM HANDICAPPED AND ONLY HAVE ONE USABLE HAND FOR TYPING, THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION.

Thanks everyone! That's a little steep here too!
There are some articles since 1990 that I'd like to get too. I guess I can start looking for back issues. Trouble is I can't remember what mags they were in.

I would LOVE to have someone publish all the articles Finn wrote that are not in the two above mentioned books.

Finn also wrote for Petersens, so it would open another door to look through the older annuals they put out in the early to mid 90's.
I bought a copy of the Aagaard's Africa and showed it to my mentor who opened it in the middle, and began to laugh his head off and slammed it shut.
When I asked him what was so funny, he reloacted the page and showed me a line that stated that Finn, "had seen a higher percentage on one shot kills with the .270 Winchester than any other cartridge".
The reason my friend was laughing was because he always told me, "If it's not a .270 or a .375, it's just for fun". All Aagaard did support his many decades of rantings.
Unfortunately for me, I happen to like "fun".
