I see that bugholes.com has Stiller TAC30 actions in stock with a mag bolt face. Thinking along the lines of a chunk 7 WSM build... is the action going to be long enough to seat the heavier bullets out far enough and still function as a repeater? No concrete plans yet, still in the formulating stages. Probably an A3 or A5 Mickey and at least a Remington Varmint contour barrel.

I don't recall is the TAC30s are machined for a standard box or a Wyatt extended box. Wyatt allows about .1" more OAL.
If I were having it put together, I'd likely go with the SAUM case instead of the WSM, and I'd have it throated so that i could reach the lands with the bullet of my choice loaded a little shy of max magazine length.

The predator is milled for the extended mag, and I "assume" they are the same except for bolt nob.
Good luck, good hunting, and good times.

The Tac actions have the same magazine inlet as a Remington 700.

Yup, the tac is the same as a standard rem. You have to go predator to get the wyatts cut. You could run a Tac with a detachable mag box bottom metal and an alpha mag and get some length. My new 6.5 creedmoor is on a Tac 30 AW and takes AW 10 round double stack mags and can load out to 2.95ish.
I have a 300 wsm on a predator with a wyatts and it shoots great and feeds OK but you can only put two in the mag because the follower will catch on the bottom metal on the back if you push it down any deeper. I like the wsm's but I'm starting to think a regular old 700 long action with a 7 mag or 300 win is the way to go. They always feed well, have plenty of room to seat bullets out, and just plain work.

Dumb question: Are the Stiller actions cut with standard Remington threads for the barrel?

Predator 7mmWSM Nice, man! Pretty close to what I was thinking... maybe a McCamo rather than a McSwirley, but you got the Nightforce on a rail and the black coating covered nicely!
