I really enjoyed McQueen in that role and loved the big bore Winchester lever guns! I agree, great movie.

Tom Horn was not quite the 'victim-of-circumstance' sweetheart of a fella McQueen portrayed in the movie. My favorite is "On Any Sunday," because he wasn't acting, he was racing. I know several guys who competed in motorcycle races against McQueen in MX, hare scrambles, enduro and flattrack races. He asked no quarter and gave an excellent account of himself. The Ford GT40 McQueen used as a camera car in the filming of "LeMans" sold at Pebble Beach a couple of months ago for $11 mil. They're claiming it was the highest price ever paid for an American-built car (conveniently ignoring all its English bits).

And that one was a re-body, since it was all cut up for camera work, etc.
Lemans is very high on my list of favorites as well...

You'll not see a better Steve McQueen movie than " The Blob." L.W.

My favorite is "On Any Sunday," because he wasn't acting, he was racing. Didn't say it was an accurate account of history. Just that it was a good movie. Like most movies, it's fiction for crying out loud. I do agree with you about "On Any Sunday" being a good one too though.

Tom Horn was not quite the 'victim-of-circumstance' sweetheart of a fella McQueen portrayed in the movie. Apparently, neither was McQueen. I recently read an old interview in which he admitted to quite a lot of quite nasty criminal activity before he became famous.

I'd wager that you've both done things in the past that you're not proud of either. Again,,,, "it's a frikin movie for crying out loud". News flash,,, while we have indeed been to space,, Star Wars isn't factual either. Perhaps we should look into William Shattners background.

LOL, Fieldgrade.
I agree with you on Tom Horn. I like the movie a great deal. My favorite Steve McQueen movie is "The Getaway", with "Tom Horn" coming a close second.
I also enjoy "The Cincinnati Kid" as well.

Yea,,, I forgot about the The Getaway. It's a goodun too. Wish folks were as worried about the "background" of that Douch in the whitehouse as they seem to be about a movie "Actor".
