I'm stuck in a blue state, and don't blame anyone for hating my state or the idiots who ARE in the majority. There are still the thousands of others in the minority who actually work for a living and support the freeloaders. I'm proud to be a minority..........VERY frustrated, but proud.

Well here's the basic math on this. A company can provide your healthcare and pay between $5k and $12k per year for it. Or they can drop it and pay a $2k fine. Or they can cut your hours to 29 hours and not pay anything.

Which option do you see a lot of companies taking when things continue to get tough?

Colorado, you have the right idea. At the end of the day
we are all Americans. We have been through some tough times
the last few years and now it,s time to sit down and hash out
the problems and agree on solutions. Understanding that no
group gets everthing their way. This is a democracy and that
means compromise.

no, the truth is , for the past 5 years or so you actively worked to marginalize the libertarians while promoting an agenda of a big government vision of conservatism. You presented an idea to the libertarians that their vote didn't matter only to realize that tonight, yours doesn't either.

Until the GOP can unlock the puzzle of 90% of their base being white, representing a fractured base that refuses to give up on imperialism and social conservatism, they aren't going to win. In 2016, the GOP base will be even more less of the voting population than they are now - moving toward being a demographic minority.

Your approach of exclusion is a no win proposition for the Grand Old Party. Its a crutch to blame all these welfare queens for the demise of the GOP

Right on, Right on KFWA!

Wow! Stunned.

Welcome to 4 more years of the New Normal....,a $20 Trillion debt, crushing unemployment,no economic growth,$5 gas,and swelling ranks of food stamp recipients, confiscatory taxes....the list goes on.There will be no economic recovery. To say nothing of the further erosion of liberty at all levels.Heaven help you if you make any money.....you aren't going to get to keep it.

I feel sorry for those people of today who will never know this country as it once was.I fear this nation is more [bleep] up than even I thought it was.....too late. It's gone now.

we apparently have slipped over the threshhold where the non-tax paying class is in control.

Yep.

Deep depression here, the turning point that has been warned about for years is finally here. The ground has shifted beneath our feet, America as a whole has turned blue, irretrievably so frown

Right now this snowball is at the top of the slope, look for it to become an avalanche as we roll into the years ahead.

as to the blue and red state issue .
go take a look at the political map . here is a link
http://www.politico.com/2012-election/map/#/President/2012/

click on the blue state of your choice . then ask yourself how that state can be blue ???
we have aloud , through the electorial collage , this country to be ran by a small majority . the city states decide what and where we go . becouse those city states carry the largest % of those with a hand out , they decide the election

It will take me a few days to process this event. I lost much faith in the American people after last night. I simply don't understand.

Condense all the issues down, the one that jumps out is the debt and additional deficit spending that Obama has done over the past 4 years - with more to come. We've certainly rounded the European debt corner. I was pissed at Bush in term 2 for his spending and certainly thought all the people that bitched about Bush would certainly recognize the same pattern with Obama, especially given the greater magnitude.

The thing that especially grates on my nerves is the democrat talking point, and those that repeat the mantra, that demonizes business. To me, this is more of a statment about the person and their associated persona than it is about the evils of business. I've been a business owner and come from a family of small business owners. Most folks would call my family and our extended family "rich" because of their success. What most see is the manifestation of 20 years worth of effort and sacrifice. What they refuse or don't to see is the preceding years it took to get to that point. Americans apparently have reached the point where hard work, sacrifice, and determination mean nothing. That saddens me greatly.

I myself am a bit of an oxymoron - I'm a christian, conservative, govt woker. I manage an office for the Federal Govt. I make a good salary, have good benefits, and have a good retirement ahead of me - if the govt survives. What people see is my salary and associated benefits. What they don't see is my work schedule (50 hrs/wk), the struggles of managing 18 direct reports, the BS from the industry and enviros I deal with daily, etc. They also don't know the rest of the story - undergrad at 23 while working full time, graduate school in the evenings with 4 small kids at home, 2 jobs I've worked most of my adult life, or the hours I've worked to get their, etc. I'm still looking for that cushy 40 hr/wk gov job I get accused of having. In the end, I love what I do or I wouldn't do it.

Professional people are another 'class' of people that most are envious of. What they don't see is the years of developing the craft, mountain of student loan debt, internships/residency, work hours, and sacrifice to establish a business. What people see is the rewards of years of effort and somehow think life isn't fair because they don't have the same.

America is still the land where hard work, perserverance, and raw effort yield a good living. That America, the America I love and grew up in, is coming to an end. Things are rarely as bad or good as they first appear. I'm trusting this is true but right now it doesn't feel that way.

Problem is society we have more "people" in this country that have their hands out for a hand out than people who want to work and earn their own livelyhood

Agree, except I think more like 22-26 Trillion esp if/when interest rates rise.........

Glad to know I am not the only one feeling like me, my future, my children's future, and all of us just got sucked into a deep black hole.

thats because there is no democrat party anymore.
As a life long Democrat I can tell you that the party is there only in name , nothing else,.
They want you to believe they are about the middle class and working poor . The fact is that they are not
The middle class didnt just re elect this man , the welfare poor did . We cant even say that the UNION vote got him re -elected because the republicans held the house . The house is where ALL spending comes from ..
What we just saw was this country turned over to those who feel others owe them a living .
We just saw the US constitution thrown away . We just saw a 2 thumbs up to obama and all those to come who want to rule by fiat. Dictate what laws they will and will not support, with a simple wave of their hand .
That the federal government is supreme and now has the control to tell every state what it will or will not do .
thats what this election confirmed and thats why its now time to support any and all states or individual politicians who call for separation.
For if we dont , 4 years from no we may very well see everyone getting their paychecks from the government , regardless of whom you work for

Nope , this life long democrat is now a separatist.
The democrat party no longer exists

Chicken Little just got crushed. The sky has fallen.

It's like watching a loved one slowly die of cancer.

I am shocked that there are so many in this country now who think so differently than many of us "baby boomers".

Fiscal debt and handouts are only half of the reason for our decline as a nation IMHO. The other half is spiritual and moral decline. Is it over? Is this the end of the beginning??
