I acquired a .45/70 barrel for a handi-rifle last week. The barrel needs to be fit. I have been to GBO and read their posts on the handi and know what it needs to tighten the side to side play in the barrel. I shimmed it with aluminum foil layers to see if that worked and it did. So now I have to do it permanantly. I can use epoxy or solder to fix the steel shim into the barrel notch. I am leaning towards the epoxy but wondered if anyone here has done that with a handi; and, of course, how it worked out as far as durability. This barrel won't get a lot of use, just paper and once in awhile maybe sitting in my deer stand. Thanks in advance for any thoughts you might have.
