I am dieing for a new rifle in 22-250 and my head hurts from trying to decide. I do not want a Tikka I bought one in25-06 it shoots OK but I'm not crazy about it! Y'all tell me what y'all like!
Ive looked at rugers brownings savage winchesters CZ and weatherbys don't want to spend over 750.00 I shoot a lot at the range at paper and love to varmint hunt so it will be dual porpous need good accuracy and don't mind heavy barrel if fluted would like to stay under 8lbs i really like this gun it make me drool!

I'd look hard at Remingtons varmint line. Of all the makers you mentioned, none do anything for me. If I did'nt want a Remington, I'd look at a Kimber.

know its not on your list ... but I would go with (b/c thats what I like) Tikka <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Maybe a LVSF ... I like that package too.

Every rifle maker has some [bleep] shooters get out the door and perhaps that is what you 25-06 is .... BUT Tikka does have a the 3-shot 1" guarantee .... Remington isn't gonna come close to that.

If you don't want to do that ... next best choice would be get a SA donor and send her to pacnor .. should get you in close to $750 and now all you need is a good stock later down the road.

I bought a Rem 700 sps in 22-250 last month got it a lil less than $400, a tough deal to beat

it shot better than expected with factory loads, here is a link with an attachement of the gun and group
https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads...true#Post674231

i was going to scrap the barrel and use it for a project but instead i ordered the necessary reloading components plus a mcmillan stock since the initial reports were promising, i will try out various handloads sunday and see how it does

Savage Model 12 for around $450 or Cooper Varminter for around $1100 with its half inch 100 yard guarantee. Savage will probably do close to that.

Im with Avagardo on this one. Buy any short acton rifle you like, prefereably with a stock that you like, and send it off to PACNOR. THEN you'll really have sumthin! Plus, most 22-250 barrels come with too slow of a twist to shoot low drag high BC bullets well, Have PACNOR make yours with a 1 in 9 twist and you will be able to shoot 70-75 gr High bc stuff. While you are at it, why not 22-250 Ackley? Better case life, faster etc. Can still use factory ammo as needed. NOW you REALLY have something special and cool!

My .22-250 Ruger M77 MKII VT (heavy barrel, stainless/laminate, target trigger) has put 4 shots into 0.5" at 200 yards. No complaints.

No, I'm not a Ruger bigot - just an unabashed fan of their revolvers, M77's and #1's.

A good .30-06 is a 99% solution.

I had a ruger like that in 25-06 target and it shot very well decent triger and good looking gun! but man it was heavy. never failed to shoot! but did I mention it was heavy? I bet it was 12lbs with scope.

one of the nice things regarding the 22-250 AI is that she not only shoots factory ammo when needed but it tends to very accurate while doing it.

A guy told me that he read a study and it said that most the people that owned and loved Remington's also drove fords!
This is not a joke! I am curious how many of you that recommended a rem. also drive a ford?
