I was trying to decap and size some 243 brass with a new Lee die. I am not getting any resistance with the case no matter how far I tighten the die. I am wondering if the ball is too small. So when I put in a case and run it though I get zero resistance it just goes up and comes down smooth as can be. The problem is they are not fitting in my chamber.
I have done a fair amount of reloading and do reload for a number of other calibers and have never had this problem that is why I am suspecting the die. I thought I would ask before I run out and get a RCBS die?

The die may be mismarked. Can you measure the die components with your calipers?
You should feel resistance as the shoulder is pushed back and as the neck is resized. There are two things here (at least) that aren't right.

Thanks I have not measured it but I can. What am I looking for and what should I measure?

where do you live in Oregon?
sounds like a mismarked die..I'd call Lee first thing in the morning.. I am sure they will just replace it...
I had a product from them that was wrong.. called them and they replaced it with no questions asked...

I suspect you have a "decapping" die only.
Whatever you are willing to put up with, is exactly what you will have.

PAYPAL, sucks and I will never use them again. I recommend you do the same.

Well after talking to them and measuring the decapping pin they claim that I needed to use their case holder in my RCBS press I was using a RCBS Generic case holder. I am not sure that is the case I need to go play with it some more. I still get know resistance I think I am going to try a RCBS die and see what happens. Its just another reloading tool I guess if acts normal I am sending this set back.
thanks for your responses
