I am going on a trip to Costa Rica and was wondering how to store the pics I take with my digital camera? Should I buy a pile of storage cards or save to disk or a USB storage unit? I will have access to a computer but is not mine so I cant save them on there.

Can some help me out here?

Thanks guys,
Rob

If you have a CD burner, blanks cost maybe .25 each and each one will hold about 3/4 gig. You can't get any cheaper than that.
The problem is that if you really want top quality photos, you want to use as very low or zero compression format. That takes space. On my camera, for example, a TIF is great quality but it uses 23mb. If you can do RAW, it uses about 1/3 less. JPG's use considerably less but the more you compress them, the more sharpness you lose. So, it depends on how much you want to spend. Put an empty card in your camera and set it at the quality you plan to use. The menu should tell you how many you can put on it at that setting. That will also tell you how many mb each one is so you can judge how many photos you can get on various sized cards or on a CD.
