Sweetgum - tripod that a huge gum tree has grown around
Scaffold - two stories of scaffolding that offer stable and comfortable accomodations for...6 or 7 probably
Oil Derrick - a homemade tripod that's 20' high and took 6 club members to transport and stand up

These are named for what they are near:
Wet Weather Pond #1 & #2
Powerline #1, #2, #3
Railroad
White Oak
Spanish Moss - in a hardwood thicket draped with the stuff
Bean Field Ladder
New Bean Field Ladder
Peanut Field Far Corner
Cabin - for the late-arriving hunter it's 100 yards from the cabin
Church Road
Goat Pen - near neighboring land owner's goat pen

Have Tarzan and Cheetah where I hunt, named long before I
came along... I understand there used to be a Jane as well,
but nobody remembers why it went away.

The Texas Line
The New 120 Stand
The Pasture stand
The North Pasture stand
The Bob 40
The Dewey 40
The White Oak Stand
Stand Across From the Camp (kid's stand)

Those are the eight two-man box stands I have up now. There are numerous lock-ons that aren't included in that list, many being bow stands in close proximity to the the box stands. Will likely have two more boxes up this spring and that will be about the limit of what I want to prepare and food plot each year. I've never built a really big one, but I'd like build one that will seat 4-6 people so that the whole family can hang out together.

I carried the upper portion of an all steel 2 man ladder stand up a steep mountain and the other guy carried 5 steel 4ft sections, when we finally made it to the stand site it was named Ol'Dammit.

The Bowl (bowl shapped bottom hardwood area between thick pines)

Long Simmons (long green field named after a guy named Simmons)

Short Simmons (same as above but shorter)

Tank's Field (Tank couldn't hit chit so they planted him a field that was 50yds wide by 50yds deep and put the stand in the middle where he'd have a 25yd shot to the left and right and only 50yds long in front)

Paw Paw's stand and Uncly Jimmy's stand (both pretty self explanatory)

Front yard stand

Back yard stand

I forgot one,it is called the OWL'S nest.
For a reason.
Sitting in it one time when this large barn owl came in for a hot landing.

Needless to say it scared the crap out of me,it was a morning without any moon light.

Tom

I hope that "pecker stand" is named after a woodpecker that frequented the area! grin

My son belonged to a club in SC that had three stands you thought twice about sittin' in.
The Corn Hole,
The Mud Hole &
The Stap On
Ya'll come up with your own punch line.
