Montana: The leading edge of the storm arrived on Thursday, our first morning hunt from our elk camp. I took a young 5, and my buddy took a little 6 (out of a bachelor herd of 12 bulls) just a 2-hour hike from camp. It took 2.5 days to get them off the mountain, including the cold that followed the snow...quite a chill for Hawaiians! Anyway, our 3/4 ton longbed was quite a hit around town: More later...I'm still in MT and am limited to my Android phone.

Looking good bro....Not bad for a damn Hawaiian.....
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Cool elk! Looks like a great time. Sweet. Did you have HI plates on the truck? No wonder it was a hit The only two times I can remember seeing Hawaii plates were in Montana. Once on the interstate and once at the Cabelas in Billings.

Thanks, all! I'm home at last...albeit almost without a shirt, arm and leg, given the cost of excess baggage. Left the for the airport at 9F, it was 22 in Bozeman...then 80F at home. I also got a whitetail doe on Block Management land on Thursday, filling my tags with good eats, not "horns"...this time, at least.
