I've just bought a Rem. 700 in .375 H H. I would appreciate any and all suggestions on the best bases and rings for the rifle. Thanx in advance. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/help.gif" alt="" />

You are going to get 100 different suggestions, and probably a few arguements...
Personally, I would probably opt for a one piece picatinny (weaver) style base. Then I would opt for some tactical type rings, like TPS (Tactical Precision Systems) makes. Not the big 6 screw type tacticals, just the 4 screw. That is what i use on my 30'06 which is strictly a hardcore hunting rig.

It seems like Talley Detachable scope mounts are the favorite choice of many gunsmiths and professional hunters. I would guess that your rifle has open sights as well.

Thanks for the responses. I usually use the picatinny bases with the TPS rings, but on this one I was considering the detachable mounts. If anyone has different oppinions about the best detachable mounts please let me know. Thanks again.
