You sure you live in the US? This looks like a foreign country to me. 'Bout 3/4 mile from my home where the pics were taken. Pretty much standard for the back woods in the coastal plain in this region. Wouldn't ya just F'n love to walk point while on patrol in this chitt? I'm with 'slave. Looks like everything that I don't like and scares me would live in that mess.

geedubya,
What speeds have you been running those out of the deuce?
Have you put any through the shoulders?
Travis I load the little Riihimaki at 25 gr. W-748, mid range load. IIRC it's crankin' +/- 3,200 fps. As to putting the tsx's through the shoulder, no. I typically shoot hoglets on a line between the ear and shoulder, about 2" below the ear. Why, you ask. my daughter makes some of the best cilantro-lime pulled pork you ever tasted. Don't know if its the margarita mix or the tequila, but it's lip smackin good. Where we hunt it's DRT or you usually don't recover your quarry. Consequently its either CNS or severed spine. They drop and paddle. Best GWB

Maybe too late to the game to rate a GFY, but 223 AI means one can do a 1 in 8 twist and pretty much run anything from 36 to 75 grainers to the same point of impact. Good for a variety of things should one choose. Best GWB

Looks like everything that I don't like and scares me would live in that mess. A fella got to remember both sides of the blade are sharp. Close is good. Warm fuzzy stuff, no chitt. Heart pounding maybe, but I say live large or die small. Now you know why I think gaffs and hammers would work on hogs. This is a different version of stalk hunting, or what southern fried azzholes call "still hunting". It's slow. Like molasses in January in Montucky. All morning might move you 200-250 yards. Look-step-look-look again-step(slow like early morning fog)...into any wind/breeze/zephyr. You graduate when you can walk up on a wild turkey or 'yote. I ain't done this yet to a bobcat. Keep the blood splatter off your camo if you can. Powder burned hide/hair/feathers is a sign of being one with The Force. Eat the snakes, phouc the panthers and dance with the bears I say. Ooooh Raaaah! Smoke 'n Mirrors Dan

Kinda like shooting crows. Except for the 10 yard shot, use of CB's, them teeth they wear, momma hog being protective, snakes, and not being able to see anything coming for you before it is in your lap or chewing your ankle off. Yeah, just like shooting crows.
So I expect you got a strategy. Shoot momma first and then the hoglets while they are milling around?
