Why cant you find this ammo anymore? Did Remington stop making them? Havent been able to get a box in 2 years. It seems like they do show up every now & then...Do they just make a limited number of rounds? Whats the deal?

They still make them, I bought some this summer. They are the most accurate load in my Savage 220. I was in the same shop last week and they had tons of 2 accutips but no 3 inch.
BTW, both shot about 1800FPS when I could get my chrony to register. The 3 inchers are just more accurate but also have more recoil.

Doc And Remington is dragging their feet on production. Those stores that have likely ordered them LAST year. This year's production of the 20ga AccuTips has been WAY behind. DAMHIKT.
I never thought I'd grow up to be a grumpy old man, but I did, and I'm killin' it.

I'm sitting on five boxes, yet cringed pulling the trigger on a yote the other morning.
Wish I had more. I don't feel comfortable with Remington producing this line.
They could go the way of their BuckHammer's

Yes, they are indeed hard to come by. I bought a case at a show in the summer. Should last a couple years. The 2 3/4 shoot unbelievable in the Savage 220, even out to 200 yards. Seeing is believing.

This was one of many shooting session with my 220 throwing a variety of slugs out to 200 yards. The 3" was the most consistant in 220. My fathers 220 produced similar results. At the end of the shooting season, I concluded my 220 was a 150 yard gun. [/img] Two rounds (2-3/4)Accutips at two hundred yards, but the drop was too excessive for me. [/img]

May I humbly suggest the Nikon Slug Hunter 3-9x40 scope with the BDC reticle? No more holdover. Dialed in at 50, graduations for 100 and 200 yards are spot on. I would feel confident out to 200 yards with the Savage 220- Nikon combination.

The trajectory is a rainbow, can't see the BDC matching. I'll probably go with CDS ot custom shop BDC once I determine the actual slug. The AT are very accurate, but will wait for terminal report before I decide.

Set crosshair for 50 yards, and 100, 150 and 200 are dead on with the Nikon BDC.Seeing is believing. http://www.nikonhunting.com/spoton/Check it out.
