Anyone have experience with the 6.5 grendel? This round looks interesting to me. Are there any youth bolt guns in this caliber or is this an AR only round?

If you're serious about .357, don't overlook the bolt action Ruger 77/357. I've got one. It shoots well. Then again, so did the marlin I had before it, but the marlin lever action stock drops a lot, seems set up for irons, a comparative struggle to get it to jump to the shoulder with the scope on target, but the bolt action ... it's automatic and easy.

You most likey used a lever action gun which are not known for the quality of their stock. 30-30 is pretty low recoiling round.

Have her try a something like a Remington 700 with a 20" heavy barrel.

And if anyone hasn't mentioned it, make sure the stock fits grin. There are a lot of cartridges that will work quite well but the only rifle that will work well is one that fits. 30-30 may sound like a low-recoil round but in standard stock dimensions with a plastic or steel butt plate it's going to kick the snot out of a 95 lb human. Just an opinion but I'd be looking for a decent Model 7 with 20" barrel and wood stock. Have the LOP cut by a smith that knows what he's doing and put a quality recoil pad on it. .243, .308, .260, whatever is going to kill deer without being loaded to the gills. Good luck with the choice.

I'm looking for suggestions on low recoiling rounds that would have ample energy to take deer / black bear size game out to about 150 yards. I not a big fan of 22-24 caliber bullets for black bears so please keep that in mind.

Get over your issues with the .22 cals and get a .223 or 22-250.

Dave

PS- I need a low recoiling round that doesn't really recoil low because I don't believe .224 diameter rounds kill things but .243 diameter rounds do kill things so please recommend things like that so I can buy things like that because I already decided to buy things like that despite what the person shooting the actual weapon that I am going to buy thinks/feels.
