We left Solon Springs, WI last night to 2.5" of snow and it was coming down fast! Got a text from my step-dad this morning. Over 12" fell between 7pm and whenever he shoveled this AM.

It was over 50* when we got there yesterday. The whole way home, all I could think about was how nice it would be to be hunting in this tomorrow.

I'm guessing Grizzly_Bill got a good blast of it too. Good luck to all the dudes hitting the woods tomorrow!

Going out tomorrow AM for whitetails with my son and a neighbour kid. -20C and windy, lots of snow for this time of year, but the rut is in full swing and some action seems likely.

It's a cold opening morning for MN muzzle loader. Must be close to zero.

Buschpilot stopped inn to see us at camp last night. It's just me and nate out hunting this morning. Dinner last night was meat. An all meat dinner. smile

I'm guessing there was more to dinner than meat, judging by the photo wink

It's in the 20's here with lots of wind. The wind is really screwing up my last couple days of rifle season. I braved the gusts yesterday evening and sat in my elevated box blind. 14' off the ground and gusts between 30 and 40 mph. It was like being in a plane and flying through turbulence. crazy

Strong winds kept me in bed this morning, but I'll be out this afternoon. Winds are down to half what they were and there's a bit of snow on the ground and I've still got a doe tag and a restricted tag to fill. Think I'll don my Chickenbuck shirt for luck. grin

Good luck to all!

Sat this morning until 9:00 and then did some still hunting through the fresh snow on the river bottom. One fawn track in that entire bottom and about a 100 coytote tracks. frown

On my way home I noticed some sets of tracks going into the CRP that surrounds my place. One was a BIG set of tracks so I followed them for about an hour and they ended up going into a little one acre woodlot clear on the other end of the crp field. I backed out and am going to sit out in the tall grass tonight in a chair and see if I can't get lucky.

Good Luck everyone!
