Looking to book a rifle Moose Hunt for 2014 for 3 of us, looking at Newfoundland, Ontario, or Alberta? Can be a drop camp or lodge hunt. Not looking for Alaska or BC, out of my price Range right now. Looking for input from members who have been on a hunt in these place. Thanks!

I have spoken to guys that hunted with Westwood Outfitters and Crabbes River in Newfoundland. All had good things to say. We are planning a 2014 hunt instead of 2013 - heading to Italy in Sept-Oct for 18 days.
A friend who has hunted extensively in various states and country's suggested that I ask if the game processor has refrigeration for storing the moose meat.
He knows of several people who shot moose on the first day and ended up with spoiled meat because of the processor.

1+ on Westwoods Outfitters. I hunted with them this year and got a nice moose on the second day.I think they have near 100% success. Most are repeat clients , you may have to book now for 2014.

Newfoundland has the highest moose density of all of NA, even though they're not native to the island (moose were introduced there in the early 20th century). Many hunters actually drive to Newfoundland via the ferry system. This way, they can haul back all the meat, which is cost-prohibitive if you fly.

I've hunted with Pine Ridge Lodge and can recommend them highly. You can add on a bear too or even a woodland caribou. Getting a moose is practically a slam-dunk, but if you're looking for large antlers, you'll likely be disappointed. Otherwise, a great fun hunt.

I just got back a month ago from NF and killed a giant bull moose and a Boone and Crockett caribou. I hunted with Bob Efford of Efford's hunting adventures. This place was great. We killed two bull moose and the caribou in two days of hunting. This hunt is a remote fly in camp. We saw over 35 moose in two days about a dozen bulls. Pm me if you would like more info.
