I didn't get to hunt in bow season because of work, from what I hear it was slow anyways.

Muzzleloader is usually when things get rocking around my place. This nice little 8pt strolled in and I got with with the 300gr Barnes at about 25yds.

After muzzleloader I played musical rifles and my .260 Mountain Rifle was lucky enough to be with me when this old toad strolled in.

I had watched this deer all summer, I knew one side of his rack was weird and his body was huge for around here. He would be in my field with older doe and other bucks and would just dwarf them, he also was a grumpy old bastard because he would run off anything that got near him. He came in on 11-18 to whip a spike that was running a doe in front of me, a 129gr Hornady at 15yds ended his day. A friend is doing a Euro mount and he aged him by teeth at 5.5yrs old. He had been shot I guess by a muzzleloader in years past, we found the bullet and he had scars and puncture wounds from fighting. He has had an infected foot for quite a while and I guess that's what jacked up his rack.

Today it was chase city and I really thought this dude was better than he was. Running a doe and it was s snap decision to shoot, I did get to test run the Barnes 130 TTSX from my 30/06 though. Through the right shoulder, lungs and heart crushed, out the ribs and into the dirt from 20yds. I watched him pile up but did follow the massive and very short blood trail to a wide 6pt.

I have the chance to get a doe up in December and I hope to get one with a handgun.

When I die I hope I don't start voting democrat.

Great job tagging out on some good deer. Start shooting slickheads to fill the freezer some more.

Wow! That foot looks like it HURT!

Congrats on some nice deer.

I'd rather have a bad day hunting than a good day working!

Congrats

I like the .260

Does make better freezer meat though. To each his own.
