Quote
Someone could win $550 million in Wednesday night's Powerball drawing, the largest in the game's history.

I might be tempted to buy a ticket or two.

Wow! Over half a billion before taxes. I might buy a ticket or 2, too, just for yucks. If I strike it rich I'll host a ginormous campfire shindig-all expenses paid. grin

Here's my plan.

1) 1 third of $$$$$ goes to my wife.

2) 1 third goes in the bank.

3) 1 third will be spent extremely irresponsibly.

Isn't the rule of thumb that you'd clear about 35-40% or so after allowing for the cash payment and the taxes? In that case, you would only be looking at a paltry $190-200 million.

Meh, pass....

I would keep a gunsmith on retainer. Then I would buy a giant ranch, and vanish.

The headline I heard today was "if you won, could you be happy"?

I'd be happier winning than not winning, I think.

I'd spend a whole bunch of it on fast cars, drugs, and beautiful women.

I'd probably just waste the rest.

We bought some in the office and my fiance and I got some.

I do know that my student loans would be GONE!

Can't forget to retain a guy to book hunts, as well...

I'd give most of it away and become a professional student. Just enroll in various universities for studies that interest me. Randomly following my intellectual muse so to speak.
