My favorite deer stand at a favorite part of Kodiak... ...and what you just might find there That's outstanding! Beautiful scenery and buck!

No tree stand here. Ryan on the ground watching a small funnel that runs between an old duck hole and a steep bank of timber. Soybeans we panted a few years ago. Strip of clover along creek Shooting lane cut into thick travel corridor.

Not really a stand, but it's where I found the deer this year.

A stump sitting spot. Exactly 180 degrees from the previous view. Bad pic from zooming with a pocket camera, but you get the idea.

I love that country in your neck of the woods Roundoak. Thanks, tzone. It is located in the unglaciated region called the Driftless Area. I was blessed to work and raise my family here. Having said that, when you see the country others have posted here and other posts over the years...there is beauty worldwide. Wayne

I only have 2 pics, not from but toward, of one of my fav stands. I hunted this stand since the area was fresh cut. The bottom of this stand is 10' off the ground but it is on a high hill top. Hence, the hill top stand. Here I am 197 yds from the stand. This was opening day last yr. My right foot is touching the 8 pt where he dropped. I laser the distance after the kill. The next photo is from the opposite side of the same hill/stand. This photo was a few yrs ago and 145 yds where I killed a smaller 6. It's now impossible to hunt from that stand. From the stand all you can see is a SEA of pine tree tops.

I've never killed a good one from this spot, but for many years this spot has put a lot of meat in the freezer.

An evening spot on the family farm (sadly only had 10 hours to hunt there this fall)
