Hey, I was just wandering if anyone knew some good sights to get fly tying directins off. I think I will be taking a fly tying class soon, but I'm looking for directions on how to tie a specific fly. It doesn't matter if they are terrestrials, nymphs, wetflies, or dry flies I would like a bit of all of them.

Thanks in andvance!

This is my pick. Follow the link, click on a state (doesn't matter which one), then click on the "Fly patterns" link in the upper left. They have just about every pattern you could imagine. If you're interested, the entomology section is great too.

Toutbummm,

I tried that site and can't seem to get in. Something comes up about a band width Limit. I am not sure what that means. But I thought I would let you know.

Thanks guys! I have learned to tie quite a few flies, but I still need materials for fly tieing. I have the basics: thread, size 12 dry fly hooks, deer hair, hackle, and bucktail but thats all I have.
elkchsr- You had me confused for a second there. I'm going to take a look at it now.
Thanks again!

Tied my first fly today. Doesn't look great, but it doesn't look too bad either. Ready to try my second. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

While this is not step by step instructions it's critical to understand if you're going to be successful. Frank Reid, who wrote this, and I have tied and fished together for the last several years.

SOME TRUTH? Another avenue I wish I never went down. Nothing like getting a box in the mail that weighs maybe a pound but has $300 worth of chicken necks in it. Damn silly I tell you.
