Would the 225 grain .338 TTSX open good on deer or are they to tough a bullet? I have always used 250 Grain nosler partitions for deer and elk.

ADNA, I'll try to get back to you next year, after my wife gets her deer and prong horn!!!I was supposed to develope a load for her rifle with TTSX's and haven't gotten around to it yet. However, the old style 225 X's always worked for her!! memtb

Ive shot deer, antelope and elk with the 225gr ttsx from a 340wby and had no problems whatsoever. All had very nice exit wounds but not excessive. I would shoot them without worry. If youre only shooting deer I might go to 185s

They will expand better than the 250 Partitions, that's for sure.. However, if it's deer only, you could pick up speed by dropping to 185's or 210's.
