Solid 95% I would be happy with $900-$1200.

Do you really want a .308 Featherweight?

If you do, I agree with the above price

I have one just like it and was offered a solid $1,500.00.....I paid far less for it myself but nonetheless that's what the offer price was. The one pictured is a very nice rifle. If it is a true 95% and all original as it appears it is highly collectable since it is a first year fwt and also solid bolt knob rifle (just as mine is)....If you can snag it for under $1,200.00 you'd be in like flynn.....

sqweeler, If you're considering it as a collector piece that looks like a good one at a fair price. If you're looking for a hunter/shooter pick up one of the 06s you see more commonly.
They both share the same heavy receiver but the 06 will actually weigh a bit less. No mag box spacer and extended bolt stop as the 308 has. And you'll be less tempted to hot load it so that it'll be "almost the same as an 06".

I may have to disagree with that statement. My 308 is lighter than my 30-06 (It may be from wood density but it is definitely lighter)........You just never know until you have them in your hand.....

Just saying there is more steel (weight) in the short ctg receivers because of the required box spacer and the bolt stop. Wood density is certainly a variable.
Don't want the OP to bypass any good ol' 06 if it would be used as a hunter only and save him a pocketful of hunnerts.

Great advice my friend....I love both my fwt's and my 06 is probably my favorite but only because I like the cartridge better.....Damn sure no flies on the 308 though....

The cool thing about the '52 fwt is it is the first one and his solid bolt knob model is the earliest....Here's mine just for comparison (also a very early '52 model):

.....and my 30-06 for further comparison:

I just have to say, that is a beautiful rifle. Are you buying, selling or what? If you are thinking about buying, how much are they asking? What does the other side look like and does it have any extra holes drilled (side mount etc...). How original is it?? Thanks...

Yeah, that's pretty steep...Sounds like he may be wanting too much...Very nice rifle though. I will add, it looks to be in better shape than mine but still seems to be steep....Just so you know, I've got $945.00 into mine exactly how she sits (including the 2.5-10x42 monarch scope and mounts too)....One thing about rifles is if you wait long enough the right one will come along at the right price....

In Jan 2012 I paid $400 + tax at a gun store [Lynnwood Guns] for a 1953 featherweight M70 308 with very little wear on the metal parts.... but a broken wrist and terrible bubba screwed it back together.

If you want to see this up close and see the wrist, hold down the control button on the keyboard [Ctrl] and then hit [still holding down control] the + key three times.

To get your display back to normal, hold the control key down and hit the - key three times.

I have, lying around, a stock off a 1956 30-06 M70, but it has a generic plastic butt and not shaped right for the metal butt. That might be an aftermarket stock, but the cross hatching looks about right.

You still did great. Just put it in a micky edge or nice factory stock and rock on...

Why didn't you list it here? Show some pics and let us know what you've got...Sometimes a local gunshow isn't the way to sell something if you want to make more money (or even fn sell something)......It's a huge buyers market right now, so the more people you have looking at it the better your chances are at selling something. Throw it on Gunbroker, guns america, gunsinternational or here and lets see what happens...How original is it???? Let's see it.. whistle

Looks great and from what little I know of you it shoots fine along with being a hunter. Like to see them being used for what they were made for and not gathering dust. Now if it was a FWT it would be even better. grin The red pad is perfect.

375 H&H grin cool I lucked into the whole schebang......I knew where a primo 375 H&H barrel and stock were and a gunsmith willing to assemble them, all I needed was a Magnum reciever....The guy at the gunshow didn't know what he had. The magnum recievers are hard as hell to find and this one had a 300 win mag barrel on it. He thought the original owner had rebarreled a 30-06 receiver. Big difference between a magnum receiver and a standard....Good thing I knew what I was looking at whistle. I couldn't lay the money down fast enough...
