Well, I finally have one!! Been looking a while. It turns out I got my itch for stainless and walnut in a classic caliber scratched all at once! Got it from a nice group of fellas in New York. Last time someone from my family made a trade with someone from up North, they were trading 50-70 caliber projectiles at the battle of New Hope Church. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

Ruger K1-A stainless and walnut configured in 257 Roberts.

Nice rig Church, welcome to the #1 club. Shot 'er yet? Glad ya had peaceful dealings with some yanks. I'm half and half myself and most folks in these parts are decent just like Southerners. Gonna shoot that stick in the postal shoot this spring?

Haven't shot her yet. Just went and picked her up a few hours ago. I can't wait. I hear a lot of not so flattering stuff about the #1's trigger. This trigger is almost as crisp as the Sako 75 I sold in order to get this. Where is the postal shoot? I want to make Mickey Coleman's BBQ this spring. Maybe I should practice enough to out-shoot all those custom bolt gunners down there.

There's some reference to the postal shoot in previous "single shot" posts. I'm expecting an anouncement here soon for this spring's shoot. The last one was a great sucess from what I read. Sounds like fun, I need to see some rules and stuff on it. I'll be shootin my 25-06.
Hope your Bob shoots as good as it looks. If the trigger is nice and crisp you have half the battle won already.

POSTAL SHOOT

Hi All,
There will be two Postal Bench Rest Shoots for Ruger # 1's this year, one in the Spring and one in the Fall. These are world events and the World Records along with the rules are posted on the Ruger # 1 Group at: www.groups.yahoo.com/group/RUGER-1 It's a neat Match to enter and not at all expensive at only a $ 5.00 entry fee per caliber. The nice thing about it is that there are 4 categories set up by caliber and a shooter can enter one or all four if he has the caliber, .224 or less, .225 to .299, .300 to .399, .400 to .460.

This way guys shooting a 45-70 will not be shooting against guys with a 6 MM or a .308. So far the World Records don't seem that great so I'm sure they will be broken this year. The rules are very simple, the Match is a Bench Rest Match fired at 100 Yds. or Meters if your not shooting in the USA, last year they had shooters from South Africa, England, and a few other country's, about the only thing required is that you shoot the match with a # 1, but a # 3 can also be used. Last years awards were original Ruger three screw adjustable triggers plus a nice World Record certificate.
Don't know what the awards will be this year.
