Greetings to all,

I recently received my Rob Lay custom knife and it came with a padded case. After oiling the blade, is it alright to store the knife inside the padded case?

Thanks.

I keep mine in zippered padded cases made for individual knives. The sheath does not go inside with the knife though.

I have a couple of Menefees, a BA Custom, Steingass, David Winston, Mike Miller and a few others but it's only the Rob Lay that came with a zippered padded case (the sheath is secured with an elastic outside the case). Where can I buy similar zippered padded cases?

Thanks

This is where I get mine. The KnifeDogs Zip Knife Case comes in different sizes and they have elastic straps on the outside of the case to secure the sheath.

I keep my knives out of any and all sheaths and zipper cases. Lightly oiled, and on a cloth in the safe.

And wipe off the excess oil before putting in a leather sheath.
