My next one, in the works already, is a 6.5 4S grin

Templar SA Hunter
6.5 Saum
24" fluted Bartlein barrel # 3, with Vias Brake
Manners SL 100% CF stock
R&D Precision M5 bottom metal
Tuned Rem trigger

Already gathering up the brass for it... grin

The 6.5 SAUM has been calling me for a few years and my resolve continues to weaken. A 127 LRX at 3150 should be less than top-end for good brass and barrel life, but still SCREAMING out to 800+ on game.

The GAP Crusader is a larger, heavier tactical style rifle.

Pat, Can your buddies rifle hold 3 in the magazine and still feed well?
I know most feed better with 2 down!

Believe the Badger M5 mag holds 5 down and feeds slicker than you know what...

I ordered a 260 last month also. Templar action, Bartlein #3 barrel, Hunters Edge, M5 mag.

I've got all the parts sitting here for mine - just waiting on getting the bolt back from having a Badger knob installed. The package should be sent off to GAP just after Christmas. I will do all the coating myself, so GAP will just be screwing on the tube and bedding the stock. It will be a .308. I'm pretty sure that GAP has that caliber down pat.

Rem 700 CM SA
McMillan Hunters Edge, ADL
Brux 30 1:11
Shilen trigger
Talleys
Leupold 3.5-10x40 with M1s

I only have about $1100 into the parts, not including the scope and rings, so by the time all is said and done I should have a "cheap" Non-typical

Hey Bob,

I got all my parts together for a non-typical inspired 6xc build. Only diff is Crescent Customs is building it. I will be shipping all parts off tomorrow. Maybe get it in April hopefully.

I went Brux on the barrel 7.5 twist #3. I am excited.

Here's mine....

All scoped up and on the scale....

I wish I could shoot 3 shot groups like this every day...but I think the rifle could.

I wouldn't worry about caliber too much. Whatever you get it in, it'll shoot. I wanted something low maintenance that would last forever so I went with a 308. Couldn't be happier with it.

Smokepole, really good looking rifle and about what I'm looking for other then caliber.

We are getting 3025 pretty easy with a custom shop Savage in 7WSM. We hit 3150 without real pressure signs but backed off as it HAS to be hot. Pretty easy to find loads for I thought.

OSD, I love that!! I got turned onto this config the first time I laid eye on Scenarshooters OD green rifle.

Is that a fixed 10x S&B and if so, had you any experience with a fixed 10 before you bought?

I am curious because I am thinking about one as well.

Nice shooting OSD and I likey that rig! As it sits it's about 9lbs so "all up" with sling and round it's probably close to 9 1/2 lbs would that sound about right?
