I'd say shortly after Christmas at the rate the ice is forming.

Portable fishing will be wide open this weekend, hard sided houses will start heading out pulled by light rigs as well.

I'll call you soon.

Not much ice here Dave. Temps were in the low 40's yesterday. Freezing rain in the forecast for Saturday.

Been making chex mix the past couple of days and helping the wife bake cookies. Need to get packages mailed out to my son and his family in OR.

I'm going to hopefully finish up my Christmas shopping this weekend and get the presents wrapped since the kiddos will be with Mom this weekend.

I'm planning a trip to Cabelas tomorrow too. I need to get some stuff to start the reloading room in the basement.

We're supposed to have freezing rain switching to snow sometime tomorrow and pretty nice on Sunday. So far anyway. We were only supposed to get 8" of snow last weekend and ended up with 16.

Continued prayers Dusty! Good to hear from you!

Are you going to use that flat screen TV sized Lowrance to locate the best spot on LOW to set that new house?

grin

Nice to hear from you Uncle Dusty!

I was wondering how the ice was up there. I saw guys fishing here over 2 weeks ago on the little bit of ice we had.

i am finally getting the Pastor to our church out pheasant hunting with me on Saturday. Talk about a fun way to help a guy get into heaven..... grin confused

Tzone, I did my Cabelas trip last week. Bought the boys a cute towel that has deer horns on it and you wear it over your head. They have some coupons out now T, I saved $45 on a $300 purchase.

Man, I'm jealous! It would be awesome to have a room dedicated to reloading, gun storage, and the like. I have a half decent setup in a garage with radiant heated floors, but I'd love to have more room. Especially a room dedicated to it.

Put up picks when it's done!

I can tell you from a friend's experience that mixing liquor and reloading is not a good idea. He loaded some ammo while enjoying one too many beers and ended up with too hot loads that fried his bolt action rifle. Required a gunsmith to fix the problem with the bolt. Be careful.

Does your friend have a stripper pole in his reloading room? I may have to rethink this...

I recently heard, "You can judge your trust in a man if you're willing to shoot the ammo he loaded when drinking".

I cut the top of a propane tank off tonight and it didn't blow up..

[Linked Image]

Because I wasn't drinking.... ok maybe I was....

But I filled the tank with water before cutting.

[Linked Image]

I'll weld this nice flat plate on top now....

[Linked Image]

Because this old 30 lb tank with a small pinhole in it (yes Dusty, it's that tank)

Will soon be a small pot belly wood burning stove for Nate's new spear house.

grin

How big is the new spear house? That should keep it toasty warm if not too big.

House is a little 2 person, 4'x8'.

I'll maybe post some project pics, the stove will be cool when it's done.
