Great little sharpener with predictable results. 40 and 50 degree angles are the typical angle for those. You may be confused as it is the inclusive angle. Meaning 40 is 20 on each side.
I highly recommend this sharpener.

Just got this one. The Kershaw I sharpened was effective on two moose.
I am a little hesitant and intimidated. I need to use it more to become more confident. My brother, who can get knives sharper than me with a Lansky, was impressed.

My step father just bought one and loves it. After some practice he has been able to really whip through all of our kitchen knives but am hesitant to use on tempered blades. Anyone have input on this topic? Heat treated steel ok with this system?

I ordered one a few months ago. When I got it, I read through the instructions, set it up and pulled out an old kitchen knife and went to town on it in accordance with all the instructions and videos on the manufactures website.

It did an OK job but I was not blown away by the results. I put it on the shelf and intend to re-visit it when I have more time. I haven't used it on any other knives since and suspect my results will improve with a little practice, at least I hope so.

Not much of a review but its all can offer at the moment.

Josh

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
