hey guys , do you think this is more of a primer problem with the vertical stringing on this one group or maybe stock issues .

Are those 100yd groups? If so, that gun is junk.....but I'll take it off your hands cheap.

Seriously, I'd look at the bedding first. Check torque according to the stock's specs and look at the rub on the bedding surface and make sure the bottom metal isn't binding/rubbin. Looks like you've gotta barrel that'll shoot.

Great groups there. As suggested check the bedding and free float. I suspect it may be barrel heating up but who cares. Those are great groups. Shoot them at 300 and 500 also.

ha ha yeah it seems to be a good one . i just loaded 2 different powders and primers and it shot them both good but the non magnum primer just seemed to shoot in a straight line , up . the gun is just a cheap model 70 black shadow , the old one without a drop floor plate with a cheap plastic stock . i got it cheap but did want to shoot it to see if i would keep it . im just wondering if its the stock doing the vertical stringing because it kind of did it with both loads , retumbo and 4350 . its not free floated or nothing , as a matter of fact it hugs bad on the barrel . and yes this was 100 yds , waiting 5 minutes between every shot .

I'd mass produce the Retumbo load and get to making a drop sheet and killing animals...

yeah i hear that on the retumbo . i tried it once before in my other 7 mag and it didnt do as good but i used a different primer . i might try this combo in it as well since it shot so good with the 160s . ive got 10 loaded now to do a 10 shot group with next time and then its on to the long range testing .

I'd get it to long range and see if that vertical shows up worse there...it looks like a stock issue to me.

i want to shoot it at 400 to 500 yds and see the results . wind here the last 2 days has been 40 to 50 mph + so its been a no go on shooting . i still think after christmas ill order a medalist with the floor plate assembly to put on this one . i am impressed with the barrel so far on both my 7 mags . i was going to sell one but now i think ill just keep them both and customize them both with stocks and better scopes . thanks for the replys , i dont think i can ask much better for 2 stock out of the box guns .
