This cattle fence has 4, high tension wire with plastic posts. I wear electronic muffs and the amount of stuff going thru those lines makes my muffs snap, crackle, & pop!
What is the safest way to cross said fence?

Place the forearm of your rifle or shotgun on the top wire and press it down enough to step over it.If you happen to get bit, it's not as bad as a spark plug wire.

You bowhunters are SOL.

I will look for a forked or branched stick, to push the wires lower and then step over. If one does happen to be near the charger, then I will disconnet or turn it off momentarily.

Some run up in the 9 k volt range but have low amps. That being, they don't really hurt one, but they do get your attention.

Mine is right around 8000 volts at the far end...more than that closer in. If you wear thick rubber boots and don't touch anything else (like a fence post) you can push it down and cross it....BUT DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING THAT WILL GROUND YOU!

You could also have a coated wire with uncoated ends that you could use to ground it to a metal fence post and cross downstream of the flow. Any shock should be minor...but make sure you remove the wire after you've crossed or you've shorted the farmer's fence and made it useless.

Or pole vault, those fences scare the crap out of me. Even if the guy who owns it is with me and he swears it's off, it's always him first. My pet phobia. crazy
