Yep the sure did, then the Cattle Cars started rolling. They keep trying to repackage the same old same old. My Ukrainian Girl Friend tells me how her grand parents, had to give the state all the food they grew, they were farmers, along with all the live stock too and the farm tools, the State had guns and they didn't.

Not much to be done about it over here. Sheer dumb lie about the obligatory centralized register - the EU explicitely allows decentralized registers (e.g. on community level) as well.
Well, I'm positive that the Euro as a currency will be history by 2020 and the European Union itself by 2050.
I'll keep my gun vault well-filled for the days to come.

Decentralized ones...exist for 40 years now, less potential for misuse. No registers at all is not a realistic perspective, unfortunately. But with today's technology it will be so much faster and cleaner. Why all the complaining?

Germany did this once and ended up with WW-2

I have a bit of a problem seeing Germany as a champion for international safety and freedom....about as much trouble as seeing the US Government as fluffy and cuddly.
These are my opinions, feel free to disagree.

People who fail to study history are doomed to repeat its mistakes.
The Germans need to restudy their history from 1933 to 1939. Especially the part about the Jewish experience.
I'm sure some of the older Germans are saying "no way in hell".
