Just felt like sharing since things are slow at work. Guess I should thank the gun control crowd, the recent hubub has actually helped me get close to completing my build.

I've wanted an AR for pretty much as long as I could remember but never could justify dropping the cash. Back during the summer I came across a good deal on stripped lowers from PSA and picked one up. A couple of weeks later they had their lower build kits on sale so I ended up with one of those. Things pretty much ground to a halt then while all the parts sat in my closet. Fast forward to last week and I was kicking myself for not finishing the build and worrying that I might have missed my chance at 30 round mags. Luckily my family came through in a big way. My grandmother gave me 7 Pmags for christmas (one of my uncles set them aside when the buying spree started) and my wife, dad, and in laws ordered me a PSA 16" Mid length upper.

Wife had to work Christmas day so I was able to assemble the lower. Went pretty smooth, only lost one spring. The upper should be here in a couple of weeks. Now I just need a rear sight, charging handle, and bcg and I'm in business. Can't wait to get this thing finished and finally shoot it.

That is EXACTLY the way I build mine......except I'm a slut for RRA 2-stage triggers. Don't ever try one!!!

A quick update. Finally got the upper in last week. Added a BCM Gunfighter charging handle and a MBUS rear sight. Still waiting on a BCG. Have one on backorder with Midway that was "expected" to ship 1/20 so I'm still hopeful I'll get it soon.

Snapped a couple of quick cell phone pics after I put the upper on. This was before I picked up the rear sight. Can't wait to shoot it but until then I'm having fun walking around my house playing Tactical Timmy....

Got an email today from JSE that my bolt carrier group shipped. Might actually be burning some powder soon! Also picked up a Magpul MOE Handguard from the classifieds.
