Cost is not a factor. I just want to produce the most consistant/accurate rounds possible. Will be shooting these out of an FA Model 83 revolver. I don't care if I get a die set or buy the dies individually or mix and match.

It is hard to beat Redding dies for consistency and quality, though I've made good rounds on RCBS and Lee dies as well. You might also stick to one brand of brass if you want the most consistent rounds possible. Redding and Starline are a tough to beat combination.

I'm with Oregon45, I'd hit a like at the Redding/Starline combo.

Only buy Dillon carbide pistol dies. That way, if you are serious about reloading, when you wind up with a Dillon press, you'll already have dies designed to work in them.

Not sure when it makes sense to go with the Dillon. My best friend and I shoot primarily 9mm. I will be loading for 357 soon but don't plan to shoot it nearly as much as the 9mm. I probably shoot 1000 9mm rounds annually. I will probably shoot 200-300 rounds of 357 yearly. Not sure how long it would take to pay back?

I've used Redding dies in a Dillon 550 press; they worked just fine.

Never used Redding Dies. RCBS dies suck balls in a Dillon press. Dillon dies have a LARGE radius on the case mouth. Designed for a progressive press, MUCH smoother. Also, I really like the way you can dissasemble the Dillon dies for cleaning without messing with their proper ajustment.

I have LEE dies for 357, RCBS for 40 S&W, 44 Special/Magnum and 45 Colt/454 Casull, all in my Dillon RL550B, no issues here?, I did pony up for Dillon dies for my new 45 ACP, haven't used them yet?
The only issues I have with other than Dillon dies is the expander sits in the box unused and you need to get an additional crimp die.
