I am in the market for a new scale. I have used a Lee safety scale in the past and found it to be o.k. (with nothing to compare it with). I have looked at the Redding Master, RCBS 5-0-2 and 5-0-5, and Hornady model M deluxe powder scales. What do you guys use...likes and dislikes. I am leaning towards the RCBS 5-0-2 or 5-0-5.
Thanx for the input.

I bought the RCBS kit when I started loading and the scale works just fine. It's the 5-0-5 I think.

RCBS 10-0-10, and a RCBS elec. powder dispenser / scale combo.
I love the elec. scale for double checking loads FAST (putting all the loaded cartridges on the scale to see if they have too much variance).

I have an RCBS 1010, but bought a Hornady and use it now. Both are good scales; but I like the size and weight of the Hornady. It has a longer balance beam and seems more stable and therefore easier to use.

Been using an RCBS 5-0-5 since 1976. Would be using the same one I bought then but I dropped it once, didn't trust it and bought a new one.
There could be better scales out there but much like my 30 year old Uniflow powder measure, I've never had any reason to wish for more.

I started with the RCBS 505 about 20 years ago it worked great. I use the Lyman 1200 now the majority of the time. That Lyman will make you lazy. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Used a RCBS beam scale for years but bought a pact digital last year. I love the thing it is so much more handy than the old scale I was using.

Just to throw a fly in the ointment...I use and swear by the Redding supercharger kit. The best I've ever had. http://www.redding-reloading.com/pages/powdmeaskits.html

If you like the RCBS 5-0-5, you will love the RCBS 10-10. It comes with a hard plastic cover and stores dust proof and convenient in its base.
I got rid of my 5-0-5 so I could step up to the 10-10. The setting of the counter weights are more secure on the 10-10. That was my major reason for the switch. The 10-10 also has the capability of scaling up to 1000 gr, if that point is of interest. Perhaps to the 50 BMG crowd, that kind of capacity would be relevent.

[b]RCBS seems to be ahead in this race, but I've used a Hornady scale for 15yrs now with NO complaints at all. I like it, and would buy another, plus they are price better than RCBS.
