Who is Jerry Lee? What outfit? If I don't draw, I will still need a pilot for my plan b hunt in unit 14.

I went for 2 Chugach and late DCUA myself...we'll see how lucky we all get. Hopefully we'll all be luggin' heavy draw permits around in the field this season rather than those wispy general season tags. laugh

Garth from The Huntin Fool has a pretty good list. If you can't access it, just drop me a PM and I'll send it to you.

Any reason all you Alaskans can't just put in for draws anywhere you want? Is there a 2-3 sentence explanation on how the system works there for tags?

basically you get three picks per species with the exception of moose draws where you could have 6 with 3 being antlerless. The draws are for specific areas and dates. That is only for the draw areas there are other areas that are general season that you don't have to enter the draw for

You can put in for anything you want, but different areas are managed differently, and of course odds of drawing certain areas vary.

It is a simple drawing, no preference points or anything like that. I've never drawn a sheep tag, but I'm hoping that changes...

In one short sentence? As far as I'm concerned, game "management" in Ak. is a big cluster f$&!.

Your problem I think is you were there in the good ol' days. They are gone. Be glad you were there for them. I missed my chance.
