Yeah the "perry the pltypus" slippers were funny. grin

I'm not sure how you get mercury out of a fish, I don't recall what exactly the consuption advice/guidlines are for LOW walleye but I don't think it's too bad.

I think it's one meal per week or something like that.

Mercury accumulates in fats as I recall and removing that roll of blubbery stuff that lies in against the ribs will remove most of it. Some folks remove the ribs as well.

I do that, when I'm done cutting walleye the rib liner, ribs and "belly meat" are gone.

A lot of folks leave that little strip of what I call "belly meat" under the rib cage, I don't.

years ago, I decided that when I took this job, I was going to either hunt or fish, but not both. I chose hunting. I do it a lot and I travel to hunt as well as hunt local. My rods have been put away for years. I think I've fished maybe 3 times since 92 and all of those were out of state (Minnesota mostly). In the meantime, I took up competitive shooting and that really cuts into time and budgets to do it seriously. So, fishing waits and I have to make do vicariously, swooning over pictures of buckets of frozen walleyes and perch. smile

My day will come.

It's not a new paycheck or a new job though. So no new plan yet. I am going to buy a canoe this year. I have one but it has to go. So, I'll be on the water. But fishing in Iowa - not worth it. If I get up to MN, and esp, the BWCA, then certainly. But I will probably focus on running a river out west instead. Most are not so fishable.

Of course, that is assuming there is water - somewhere!

That is too cool! Thanks for the link.

You did a great job in the interview, fluffy. You came across really well and made hunters look good, as opposed to how some comport themselves on this website.

Next time, you gotta take better pictures in the field though smile Maybe Mrs ND could give lessons. I could use them too.
